Brief outline of the project
For my investigation I have chosen to play with photoshop in manipulating images. I want to experiment with manipulated images that may appear realistic but could not possibly be real; such as floating, doppelgangers, etc. I am inspired to bring to life the occurrences that seem so natural in dreams and imagination but cannot be done naturally in real live. More specifically I want to experiment with images which look so real that some people may not notice the impossibility within the image and to the other end of the scale where I want to experiment with very surreal and obviously unrealistic images. I hope that through the experimentation of these opposites in manipulated images I may find a preference for either the hidden impossibility or completely surreal, otherwise that I may discover a balance between the two that I would like to continue exploring.

I think you are coming up with even more creative ideas for your photos. Certainly you are progressing from the multiple 'you' shots you did last year. What is your inspiration for these photos? Are you doing any additional research into this type of work to help you in your search for the 'ultimate' photo?
ReplyDeleteI have browsed other artists work, my main inspirations being Erik Johansson, Lucia Holm and Li Wei but I also look for inspiration in my everyday life and the possibilities that would come in a dream reality. I have to admit I did kinda copy the idea of holding the drawing as it was being drawn from another photo I saw somewhere by no one in particular so I wanted to make one of my own.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm really trying to achieve the 'ultimate' photo by creating an image to seems so realistic but has such a subtle wrongness to it that people may miss it, but those who see it will be in awe, lol. I'm just dreaming.
